Addressing family challenges: Gezinsbond launches the Family Cabinet

What support do families truly need when they encounter challenges?

To find out, the Gezinsbond & Kenniscentrum Gezinswetenschappen – Odisee University College launch the ‘Gezinskabinet’ – Family Cabinet’. This initiative aims to foster a collaborative dialogue on pressing family-related issues and influence policy decisions accordingly.

Who can participate?

Parents with a child aged between 0 and 14 years who sometimes encounter challenges such as…

  • Stress to manage everything
  • A setback comes your way
  • Parenting goes differently than expected
  • You form a new family

How to get involved ?

Participation in the Family Cabinet is open to all. Individuals can contribute by sharing their experiences, stories, and ideas through the online platform at https://gezinskabinet.be/share-your-story on how the government can better support families. Whether it’s discussing the need for improved childcare services, advocating for better mental health support for parents, or addressing housing affordability concerns, every voice matters in shaping the future of family policies.

Does your organisation want to help support the Family Cabinet?

Organisations interested in supporting the Family Cabinet initiative are encouraged to lend their support. You can help publicise it, or get involved yourself by leaving a testimonial, for example.
