Dr. Antonia Torrens, General Director of KMOP, elected COFACE President

Dr. Antonia Torrens, General Director of KMOP, has been elected President of COFACE Families Europe for a four year mandate from 2024-2028.

The election took place during COFACE’s General Assembly on the 26th of September in Vilnius, Lithuania.

Dr. Torrens’ election is a milestone for the organisation since she becomes the first Greek to lead COFACE Families Europe. She stated following her election:

“In a time of significant social challenges in Europe, where the concept of family is continually evolving, COFACE’s role should be even stronger in defending the rights of all family forms, enhancing the effectiveness of social policies and achieving a better work-life balance. COFACE also plays a crucial role in shaping key European policies, including demographic issues, which are of particular importance for Europe.”

She is also supported by a strong Executive Buro and Administrative Council which were also elected in Vilnius for four years.
