On September 24, 2023, marking World Deaf Day, the Spanish Confederation of Families of Deaf People (FIAPAS) celebrated its 45th anniversary by unveiling the FIAPAS Manifesto. This powerful declaration from COFACE member organisation serves as a testament to the enduring commitment of FIAPAS and its network of family associations in creating social change that empowers deaf individuals and their families.
In the run-up to the 2022 International Day of Persons with Disabilities, the COFACE Disability Platform for the rights of persons with disabilities and their families is launching a policy brief looking at how children with disabilities are represented in recent EU Social Policy Frameworks. With this brief COFACE Disability wants to launch a reflection on the intersection between disability and age and how to integrate it into policies and programmes. For this EU Year of Youth COFACE Disability has focused this brief on Children with Disabilities and their families.
In December 2021, COFACE Families Europe released the S.H.I.F.T. from word to actions: shedding the light on the S.H.I.F.T. towards meaningful inclusion in Europe, where we highlighted 45 practices for meaningful inclusion in Eu rope, aligned with the 45 actions of our S.H.I.F.T. guide.
