COFACE Families Europe is looking for a Communication and events intern for 2027

COFACE Families Europe is a pluralistic network of family organisations representing the interest of all types of families in Europe, without discrimination. We are a membership-based non-governmental organisation which works in partnership with the European Commission through an operating grant of the EaSI programme and we build bridges between research and policy through the Horizon Europe programme.  

Internship Summary    

The Communication and Events intern will join the COFACE secretariat in Brussels, Belgium, from January to December 2027 working closely all team members, but especially those responsible for communication and events. 

Main internship tasks   

  • Writing and publishing articles on the COFACE website, as well as website management, using WordPress;   
  • Support in the editing of newsletters (Families Corner) using Mailchimp; 
  • Creating graphic content (e.g. using Canva) for different projects and activities; 
  • Social media work on the key platforms where COFACE is present, monitoring and posting regularly;   
  • Support in organising multi-stakeholder activities in Brussels and other EU countries, including administrative support using Excel; 
  • Communication with speakers and delegates participating in COFACE events about logistics, travel and more; 
  • Organisation of online meetings e.g. using Zoom and Teams. 

Offer  

  • Based in Brussels, Belgium (the future intern will have to be resident in Belgium)  
  • Contract: Full-time Contrat d’Immersion Professionnelle under Belgian law.  
  • Income around 1117 euros/month plus monthly lunch vouchers, telework bursary, transport bursary

Details of the procedure  

  • Deadline for applications: 20th October 2026
  • As part of the selection process, candidates will be asked to complete a short written exercise. The exercise will consist of drafting a short article for the COFACE website on a topic provided by COFACE. It will allow us to assess candidates’ written English, ability to communicate information clearly and concisely, and ability to adapt their writing to a public-facing audience. Candidates selected for the next stage will be invited to complete the written exercise before the interview. 
  • Interviews will take place the first week of December at the COFACE office or online.  
  • Preferred starting date: 11th January 2027
