The COFACE network welcomes a new member, Associação Bravery Devotion. Based in Portugal and founded in 2022, Bravery Devotion is a non-profit association dedicated to empowering women entrepreneurs, particularly those running microbusinesses, often while juggling caregiving responsibilities.

Their work combines practical business support, peer learning and advocacy for gender equality and inclusive entrepreneurship. Their mission is to support women, particularly those who are entrepreneurs or economically vulnerable, in overcoming structural inequalities and achieving economic autonomy. They do this by fostering peer collaboration, delivering capacity-building programmes, advocating for inclusive public policies and promoting research and awareness-raising initiatives aligned with the UN Sustainable Development Goals, especially SDGs 5 and 8. Bravery Devotion believe that empowered women and equitable families are the cornerstone of thriving societies, and we work to ensure that no one is left behind in this mission.

Bravery Devotion is primarily dedicated to the economic empowerment of women, with a strong focus on supporting female entrepreneurship. Their main activities involve creating opportunities for knowledge exchange, capacity-building, mentoring and strategic networking among women entrepreneurs, especially those running micro and small businesses. They aim to strengthen their autonomy, visibility and resilience in the economy, while also raising awareness of the structural barriers they face. All their actions are grounded in a commitment to gender equality and social justice.

Bravery Devotion is currently involved in their very first Erasmus+ project: Skillful AID – Empowering Good Practices related to Creative Entrepreneurship and Sustainable Microbusiness Environment. This small-scale adult education partnership aims to support vulnerable creative microbusinesses, especially in rural areas, by promoting digital readiness and business resilience. Through a mix of online resources, training workshops and international collaboration, the project strengthens the capacity of adult educators and offers tailored support to creative entrepreneurs in Portugal and Romania.

COFACE responds to public consultation on EU Strategy for the rights of persons with disabilities

COFACE Families Europe submitted its response to the European Commission open consultation on enhancing the strategy for the rights of persons with disabilities up to 2030.  Among our priorities, we call for the adoption of a strong family dimension in the new phase of the strategy through concrete actions; the enhancement of the monitoring and implementation mechanisms for disability policies and legislations that have a family dimension.
