Children’s voices: New online survey launched by the European Commission

Flags of the European union

On 17 October, International Day for the Eradication of Poverty, the European Commission launched a new online survey to hear directly from children and young people about their views on the European Child Guarantee.

The European Child Guarantee aims to ensure that all children in Europe who are at risk of poverty or social exclusion have access to essential services including early childhood education and care, education, healthcare, nutrition, and adequate housing.

By collecting the views of children and young people themselves, the survey will help identify what works well, where there is room for improvement, and how children’s voices can be better integrated into EU policymaking.

The survey is open for seven weeks, until 8 December 2025, and is hosted on the EU Children’s Participation Platform. It forms part of the Commission’s wider efforts to tackle poverty and promote social inclusion across Europe, key objectives of the EU’s social protection and inclusion policies.

The insights gathered will also feed into the forthcoming EU Anti-Poverty Strategy.

Organisations, schools, and networks working with children and young people are encouraged to share the survey link widely to help ensure that as many young voices as possible are heard in shaping the future of Europe’s social policies.
