From farm to fork: A conference focused on more sustainable school lunches programme in Czechia

Our dedicated member, Women for Women, is in charge of the project in Czechia called “Lunch for Kids” and in that context it had the opportunity to actively participate in a “Farm to Fork conference”. The programme focused on meals for the public, local produce and school lunches. 

The main aim was to contribute to the implementation of the EU-wide strategy “Farm to Fork”, which aims to create fairer, healthier and more environmentally friendly nutrition systems. 

Women for Women has been working intensively on the issue of nutrition and tries to promote public discussion – for example through debates and round tables. They have long pointed out that school meals have an important role to play in health education and general management. At the same time, they also try to raise other important topics such as sustainability, the need to use local products and respect for the environment.
